Getting information from freedb.orgfreedb.org is a free web service that stores information about Audio CDs. iCDc can query freedb about the CDs and download information such as Artist, Title, track names etc. To be able to downlad this information, iCDc needs information about the CD, also called the ToC (Table of Contents). The ToC contains information about the starting point and length of each track and this is needed in order to calculate the unique ID used in the query. To download information, highlight the CDs in the main list and select Download CD Track Names from the Advanced menu. If the ToC is not available for a CD, iCDc will inform you of that. To solve the problem, simply insert the CD in the drive. If freedb finds several CDs matching your CD, iCDc will present a list of the matches allowing you to choose the correct CD. If the CD is not found you can submit the information to freedb so that others can download the information later. To submit information, highlight the CDs in the list and select Submit CD Track Names from the Advanced menu. iCDc will connect to freedb.org and upload the information. Searching freedbiCDc has a built-in search function for freedb, allowing you to search for CDs and add them to your library without inserting the CD into the computer.
